What's In a Name?

So when I got the grand idea to start my own wedding/inspiration blog, the decision of what to name said blog hung heavily over me.  What I named my blog would represent all that it stands for…not an easy decision.  I started to brainstorm, thinking of the things I continually go back to when I need some inspiration myself, while trying to think of something catchy that could capture all that I want this blog to represent.  I ended up with two things that I consider timeless, not only in regards to being a fall back source of inspiration when I need it, but also in that they are timeless in their every day purposes…two things that I go back to constantly, no matter the occasion.  Wheat pintuck is my all time favorite linen for events.  There are so many fantastic linens that one can choose from when designing their event, the options are endless.  In my past job, I designed my company’s booths for the bridal shows we participated in, along with numerous open houses and bridal showcases, allowing me the opportunity to take advantage of all the fun new trendy linens.  More often than not, we did put these new fantastic linens to use in our open houses and shows, but when I found myself struggling with a specific design, I would go back to wheat pintuck.  I suppose it is because I think it represents something more than the latest trend.  It is a linen that looks fantastic regardless of the nature of the event, regardless of the setting, regardless of the time of year.  I have the same feelings about pearls.  In most instances, a simple strand of pearls is the answer to an accessorizing dilemma.  Classic and timeless, simple yet elegant.  Sometimes, like life itself, this crazy frenzy we know as the internet and social media, can become a bit overwhelming.  It is in times like these that I find myself drawing on what is comfortable and simple for inspiration. Pintuck and Pearls.
