This coming Sunday, Rare Magazine is hosting their bi-annual wedding show, Rare Weddings at Laguna Gloria. This is one of my favorite wedding events of the year. It is loaded with Austin’s best vendors and showcases the latest trends in wedding design, decor and fashion. This event is a great way to find the perfect vendors for your wedding; there is a large enough selection so you can meet multiple vendors of the same catergory, but intimate enough to where you will not be overwhelmed. The food, the drinks, the design, the fashion all make this event rank high on my list. Visit their website for more details: Rare Weddings.

Rewind: Claire and Ivan's Garden Party, Part 1
A few weeks ago, my sweet friend Claire was married in The Woodlands at a gorgeous little park. Their reception was held in her parents’ backyard just a few blocks away from the ceremony site. Claire’s vintage garden style and attention to detail shined through in every aspect of her wedding. Claire planned every detail on her own, with some help from her mom and sister… I was beyond impressed and totally inspired.
Before I share photos, a bit of background on Claire and Ivan. They met when Claire was in college at Oklahoma State University. One night, her older sister, Brooke, drug Claire along to salsa lessons that she frequented with her Colombian boyfriend. Ivan, also from Colombia, was friends with Brooke’s boyfriend and literally swept Claire off her feet from the moment they shared their first dance. Claire and Ivan are a match made in heaven and their relationship epitomizes true love. PS Claire’s older sister married her Colombian sweetheart last year…how funny is it that two sisters married two handsome Colombians? I love it! And I love them, and I love their story.
Cermony Site – The Altar

Bluegrass ceremony music? Yes please!

Fresh roses on the aisle chairs

The newlyweds! This pic makes me all warm inside

I love the combination of pale blue and hues of orange and ivory.
I will post photos from the reception soon…there were just too many to include here that I decided to dedicate a whole post to Claire and Ivan’s reception details. Make sure to check back. You don’t want to miss these!

Miss Dior, You Make My Heart Float
I saw this commercial on TV last night and was instantly captivated. It is probably very old and you have probably already seen it a million times, but due to my lack of television watching, it is new to me. And I love it. I love the colors, the lighting and the whimsical playfulness of it all. I love that it awakens my senses and makes me feel carefree and happy. This commercial is the precise personification of how weddings and pretty things make me feel…I get swept away and float off to Lala-land, holding onto a big bunch of pretty balloons.
I hope this brightens your mood as much as it did mine. Enjoy.

Larissa and Zach's Wedding by Jennifer Nichols, Part 2
Last week I posted some photos from a gorgeous wedding at The Allan House. As promised, here are the rest of my favorites from Larissa and Zach’s garden wedding. Thanks to Whitney from The Allan House for sending these over!

How adorable are they? I love her bird cage veil!

One of my favorite things about The Allan House is its close proximity to downtown. There are so many great nearby places for a quick post-ceremony photo shoot of the newlyweds.

Love the simple and fun “Reserved” cards.
It was so tough to narrow down my favorites from their wedding. If you are thirsty for more of Zach and Larissa’s wedding, visit Jennifer Nichols’ blog post about their big day.
